One of Australia’s most recognised tribute bands has finally reformed to set a new standard as Melbourne’s premier cover band - and this time they bring with them Australian Idol’s Nicole Lovett on lead vocals!
Between 1996 and 2005 ‘DISSTROYER’ cut a path of blood, smoke and fire through the hottest clubs and venues in Australia and overseas. From support gigs with Kiss, right through to live TV and national headline tours, DissTrOYer pulled crowds and pleased patrons like few other acts.
MAMMA JAM may have ditched the make-up and platform boots, but they still deliver an unforgettable high-energy rock show with songs from today’s Top 40 hits as well as yesterdays classic rock.
From Black Eyed Peas ‘I Gotta Feeling’ right through to AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Nite Long’, expect MAMMA JAM to go where no other band can.

Mamma Jam’s founding, core band members are John Joseph, Paul Witty and Brett Stothers. The Joseph/Witty/Stothers music partnership has a long history – spanning more than 15 years and 1,000+ shows!...
1995 - 1997: The Realm
Signed to an independent label in Europe within 6 months of their first show, The Realm performed relentless live shows, week in week out, carving a niche for themselves as one of Australia’s most successful hard rock indie bands. Highlights included support tours with The Screaming Jets, Chocolate Starfish and The Offspring.
1996 - 2005: DISSTROYER - The Australian KISS Show
In a quest to generate money to pay for their first album as ‘The Realm’, DISSTROYER was innocently established as a “moonlighting” act. Within weeks, demand from live venues was such that the band’s original act fell by the wayside to accommodate the sweeping tours and public interest in the show.
Regular national and overseas tours were common. The wild theatrics of the live show drew praise for its pyrotechnics, big lighting, blood, fire, and smoking guitars! Highlights included support shows with KISS in 1996, and headline national and international tours.
1998 - 2002: TANK
Once ‘DISSTROYER’ was rolling, the boys reignited their passion for original music by forming the power pop outfit TANK. A favorite of Triple J, TANK’s debut EP was produced by renowned Australian Producer Lindsay Gravina (Beck, Magic Dirt and The Living End), and received critical acclaim along with its steady rotation on Triple M’s Oz Music Show.
1998 - 2002: The Wild Highs
After ‘TANK’, the boys formed an all-new original rock act called The Wild Highs. The single ‘Smith Street’ again featured on Triple J, whilst the video clip enjoyed several months rotation on ABC’s ‘Rage’.

• Nicole Lovett Vocals• Hailing from sunny WA, Nicole made her mark in the cover band world fronting popular Perth bands;
Hot Chilli, Roxx, Pretty Fly, and the Abba tribute show ‘Abbasalutely‘.
An Australian Idol finalist in 2008, Nicole was praised for her passion, singing and songwriting skills by industry icons and Idol judges Tina Arena and Darren Hayes. The Idol experience also provided Nicole with the opportunity to work with and record alongside audio master Paul Mac.
• John Joseph Vocals/Guitar•
Not many people know that ‘JJ’ began his career as a cast member of the TV show ‘Young Talent Time’. Between the ages of just 5 and 14, Johnny grew up with the likes of Tina Arena, Danni & Kylie Minogue & Joey Perone.
As an adult, JJ found his way into various indie rock bands as lead singer. Flourishing as a songwriter he eventually became singer/guitarist for TANK, DISSTROYER, and most recently The Wild Highs.
When ‘DISSTROYER – The Australian Kiss Show’ formed, JJ took on the role of Paul Stanley like a duck to water, guiding the theatrical rock show with high energy and soaring tenor vocals.
In 2009 JJ wrote and produced a full-length studio album as lead singer of The Wild Highs, producing the single and video clip ‘Smith Street’, as seen on Rage and heard on Triple J.
• Paul Witty Lead Guitar/Vocals•
One of Melbourne’s most established guitarists, Paul Witty boasts a long list of achievements. From Music Director at some of Melbourne’s most prestigious Colleges, to outstanding lead guitarist for some of Australia’s best working cover bands and original acts.
His versatility as a session muso and record producer has seen his lead guitar playing feature on many Australian albums. His uncanny ability to play ‘Ace Frehley’ in DISSTROYER earned him praise internationally as the ‘...best “Ace” in the world!’
His success as “Space Ace” led to his recruitment by the world famous ‘Dracula’s Cabaret Restaurant’ in Melbourne, joining as a guitar playing cast member in the shows ‘Beasts of Burlesque’ and ‘Vampyates’. Over a quarter of a million people saw Paul perform his unique and flamboyant guitar wizardry.
In 2009 he founded his recording and production studio ‘Zep–Tepi Studio’s Aust.’ in Richmond, where he has produced several movie soundtracks and recordings for a variety of artists and settings.
• Brett Stothers Bass/Vocals•
Arguably one of the most talented songwriters in Melbourne, Brett Stothers came to prominence scribing songs for the indie metal band THE REALM. Later when TANK was formed, Brett wrote the band’s most successful single “Start Again” – a heart-felt grunge rock ode that struck a chord amongst DJ’s of mainstream radio stations Triple M and Triple J. Produced by Lindsay Gravina (Beck, Thirsty Merc, The Living End) the single topped independent charts and stayed on steady rotation amongst American College radio stations for the next two years.
Few people know that Brett actually played the role of Gene Simmons in ‘DISSTROYER – The Australian Kiss Show’, spitting blood and breathing fire in a demonic bass solo that truly sounded like he was the ‘God Of Thunder’!
• Paolo Di Pietro Percussion/Vocals• Paolo burst onto the music scene as the drummer of FACEplant, a Sydney/Newcastle based
original rock group that released an EP and toured nationally supporting major acts Silverchair, The Cult and The Divinyls.
After FACEplant Paolo applied his trade in successful Sydney cover bands Motherfunk and Pearl Jammed-the Australian Pearl Jam Show. Both bands regularly toured the East Coast circuit.
