FLOORSHOW: THE GREAT GATSBY 1920S FLAPPERS AND GANGSTAS
This show intertwines the fun and fringing of the Flappers from the 1920s era and the glamorous ‘Fred Astaire’ classic ‘Gangster’ feel of the 1920s. We incorporate both music from the new brilliant Baz Luhrmann’s Film “The Great Gatsby” and other renditions of the Great 1920s style music. This show can be performed in one 15 minute set OR as two Acts over the call time. When the show is condensed to ONE show, “Putin on the Ritz” is excluded. This works best with the flow of the show from Vintage to ‘The Now’. This show is hugely successful and the costuming is exquisite.
ACT ONE: Flappers (males and females mixed- it’s your choice)
(approx 7 minutes long) Our show begins with the very well known dance from the 1920s, the ‘Charleston’. These quirky dancers, dressed In black fringed outfits, enter the room with the traditional, high energy, Charleston dance moves collecting in a group on the main stage, where they playfully do ‘the Charleston’. The mood then shifts to a sultry, slow “Love is a drug” where a stunning Soloist will have your guests taken back by her impressive acrobatic and flirtatious interactive routine. Finishing with some fun, the floorshow comes to a finish with the celebration of the roaring 20s with an upbeat commercial Charleston routine to the new rendition of “Crazy in love” from the new Great Gatsby Film.

ACT TWO: Gangsters (same cast of females and males mixed – your choice)
(approx 7 minutes long) This show opens with the fabulous "Puttin' on the Ritz", a playful show routine with the ubiquitous hats and canes and incorporating faux tap dancing, humor and optional interaction with your guests. “Puttin' on the Ritz” is a timeless classic written and published in 1929 by Irving Berlin, from the musical film “Puttin on the Ritz”, (1930). The title derives from the slang expression of the same name, referring to people who would dress up very fashionably, and socialize at the swanky Ritz Hotel...'Gangnam Style' for the '20s. The original version of Berlin's song makes mocking reference to the fad of the time of the flashily-dressed, but poor, black 'Harlemites’ who would parade up and down the infamous Lenox Avenue (now also known as Malcolm X Boulevard), true to the lyrics in the song: "Spending ev'ry dime / For a wonderful time". The show then shoots forward to the present release of “The Great Gatsby” Show sound track “Bang Bang”, a song that fuses the 20s with the ‘now’. Finishing on an upbeat high, “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody”, another Great Gatsby release, our performers continue the ‘Gangster’ feel with an energetic ‘commercial dance’ style routine. The Dancers will also welcome your guests up to dance with them at the conclusion of the routine, and encourage your guests to feel the fun and flair of the 1920s with them. 1.Puttin on the Ritz (bowler hats and canes) 2.Bang Bang (gangster guys and gals) 3.A little Party Never killed nobody (Sang live)

This is the old show that has been a massive success…. “Chicago 1920s show”
1920s CHICAGO SHOW - Charleston and Vaudeville floor show (10minute show plus optional 20 minute roving)
Recommend 4-8 dancers. Chicago is a 1920s musical set in prohibition-era Chicago. The story is a satire on corruption in the administration of the Criminal Justice system relating to criminal cases involving celebrities. The musical is based on actual criminals and crimes that were reported on by journalist, Maurine Dallas Watkins. Maurine follows and reports on the 1924 trials of the murderesses, Beulah Annan and Belva Gaertner for the Chicago Tribune. Bob Fosse choreographed the original production but then it was brought back in the mainstream eyes of millions with the Academy Award winning film version in 2002, directed by Rob Marshall. The musical took life once again and has been very popular recently, as the 1920s theme is a fun, theatrical show for any event. The Story and journey of our Vaudeville Floor show: 1.Our show begins with the very well known dance from the 1920s, the ‘Charleston’. These quirky dancers, dressed In black fringed outfits, enter the room with the traditional, high energy, Charleston dance moves collecting in a group on the main stage, where they playfully do ‘the Charleston’. 2.Puttin On the Ritz: Hats and canes and Fred Astaire dance moves, a dance routine with ‘soft shoe’ tap dancing, bowler caps, long black canes and a little slap stick comedy! Lots of quirky clean fun from our glamorous gangsters. 3.In line with the musical ‘Chicago’, the show presents Velma Kelly, the Vaudevillian seductress, who murdered both her husband and her sister when she found them in bed together, as she sings “All That Jazz”. (optional live vocals) 4.The show then Finishes with the unforgettable “Cell block Tango from Chicago”. This number display the various ladies in their cells, who have been found guilty of killing their lovers, including chorus girl, Roxie Hart, who murdered her lover, nightclub regular, Fred Casely. The girls show their aggression and denial in the comedic dance/mime number “The Cell Block Tango”. 1 Video Link:
